This vintage solid bronze compass housing is in good condition. It does have some dings and dents. Nothing major but the largest are on the very top of the housing. The attached holes for mounting are what makes this housing in fair condition, these areas are broken or breaking off the base. This housing had a danforth constellation compass in it. It has a 6 3/8” diameter to hold a compass. Overall base diameter is 7”. Stands 8” tall. The depth is 4 1/2”. The sliding on the head is smooth and does not catch at all. To mount on a pedestal top plate the bottom has area for 4 bolts to screw. This pattern is approx 3 3/4” apart (the holes are slightly longer for adjusting to fit on different sizes).
